Hello there, I’m Tinsel!

After my boss read the letter about what he could accomplish with Demandbase solutions, he sent me down here to learn all about Account-Based Experience – ABX and how we can use it to deliver a special holiday experience to all the kids.

Did I mention my boss is Santa?

Here are 3 straightforward tips that I’ve learned can help teams deliver an engaging campaign with ABX:

  1. Make a sleigh map (er, martech roadmap).
  2. Align your revenue teams, because two heads are better than one.
  3. Engage customers with compelling content every step of the way.

Read on to see how these tips helped Santa turn this holiday season into the best one yet! Plus, I share some great reading material to help you get started on your own memorable campaign.

The key lesson I’ve learned about Account-Based Experience

You may have seen me around trying to get to the bottom of what makes it so special, and I’m very grateful to the marketing team for facilitating my accelerated learning experience.

I spent the last couple of weeks binging on DB Central with all the ABX content I could get my hands on, watching videos, listening to podcasts, reading blogs and ebooks, and trying my hand at the Tech Stack Evaluator.

So what I’ve learned is, ABX helps all the elf teams deliver exactly what presents the kids want — while staying age appropriate — and at just the right time! (ABX is an elf’s dream come true!)

With everything I’ve learned, this holiday season, we were able to streamline production and get the best quality gifts in the hands of all the joy-filled kids.

3 tips for executing a successful campaign with Account-Based Experience

As my time at Demandbase comes to an end, I’m here to share some tips I’ve picked up along the way! Here are three simple tips on how to execute your own successful campaign with ABX:

Tip #1: Make a sleigh map (aka, martech roadmap)

I’m not going to lie, when Santa told me to put down the hot cocoa and journey to Demandbase, I was pretty nervous. And when I got here, I had no idea where to start.

Luckily, Demandbase has a quick and easy way to map out what YOU need to get started with ABX and find success with your own marketing campaigns.

Their Tech Stack Evaluator asks just nine questions to find out which technologies you need to keep up with the magic at your business. When I shared the news with Santa, he gave the loudest ho, ho, ho! I’d ever heard.

It was the perfect way to get started and come up with a sleigh map… er… you guys call it a roadmap, right? Yes, a roadmap to get you started on your tech journey or to help you fine-tune your existing martech solutions.

Tip #2: Align your teams, because two heads are better than one!

At the North Pole, we’ve got our scout elves (Sales team) and our toy elves (Marketing team). Since the scout elves are in direct contact with the kids (our customers), they must communicate with the other elves to ensure each kid gets what they need from us.

This can be tricky, but to make ABX work and create an effective marketing campaign, aligning these two teams was essential. But how to go about it? Luckily some of my friends at Demandbase recommended I read Jon Miller’s “Three Levels of Sales and Marketing Alignment Maturity” blog, and it laid it all out in a neat infographic!

I sent it to Santa, and word around the Pole is that orchestration has skyrocketed and communication between the teams has never been better.

Tip #3: Engage with customers with compelling content every step of the way.

Just because the kids send Santa their letters doesn’t mean the journey ends there.

ABX has taught me that no matter how far away or how close Christmas is, you have to make sure the entire holiday experience is taken into account.

So you have to map out the strategy in advance, (this is where the team alignment is super important.), and make sure the kids (your customers) stay engaged, so you have to keep the story (your content) compelling.

Looking for a place to get started? I spent long nights sipping hot cocoa and reading The ABX for Sales Playbook. That’s where I found tons of marketing strategies on how to engage even with the toughest kids on the playground.

The last thing we want at the North Pole is for kids to just give up on Santa and the spirit of Christmas, and we need to help them keep that spirit alive!

Tinsel Tips 3

The big day is a success with ABX in place!

I’ve really loved hanging out with the Demandbase team these past few weeks. Now that I’ve shared my biggest learnings, this is where I sign off.

ABX is on our side this holiday season and we’re so excited to have been able to spread the magic and cheer better than we ever have before!

Happy holidays, from Tinsel and everyone at Demandbase!
